Office Space To Rent In The West End
The West End of London (commonly referred to as the West End) is an area of Central and West London in which many of the city's major tourist attractions, shops, businesses, government buildings and entertainment venues, including West End theatres, are concentrated.
Use of the term began in the early 19th century to describe fashionable areas to the west of Charing Cross. Lying to the west of the historic Roman and Medieval City of London, the West End was long favoured by the rich elite as a place of residence because it was usually upwind of the smoke drifting from the crowded City!
Taking a fairly broad definition of the West End, the area contains the main concentrations of most of London's metropolitan activities apart from financial services, which are concentrated primarily in the City of London (although many hedge funds base themselves in the West End). The area is rich in art galleries and museums, government buildings (mainly around Whitehall), hotels, media and legal establishments, shops, theatres, cinemas, nightclubs, bars and restaurants.
The West End is equally as popular with tourists as with vibrant and growing businesses. The West End comprises of Mayfair, Bond Street, Oxford and Regent Street, Covent Garden, Soho, Leicester Square and also Trafalgar Square. It is the second most vibrant area in the City of London. There is no ambiguity whatsoever why businesses who are serious about growing in terms of staff tend to show affinity for the West End. The vibes, the pubs, restaurants, the shopping centers, the theaters including the buildings, all offer a reward to those who choose to work in the West End.
Most buildings which are not residential and retail are now offering serviced offices for all types of businesses in the media, professional services and law sectors. Offices in the West End can also be found close to notable streets such as Albemarle Street, Baker Street, Bond Street, Denmark Street, Charing Cross Road, Great Marlborough Street, Great Portland Street, High Holborn, Old Compton Street, Oxford Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, The Strand, Tottenham Court Road without forgetting the very famous Wardour Street. Hedge Funds, embassies, educational and legal institutions, media establishments, including think tanks and strong performing businesses are concentrated in this part of Greater London, the West End.
